First Coast Manufacturers Association Announces Fourth Offering of Front Line Supervisor Training Program

April 11, 2016 – Under the leadership of Mike Templeton and Templeton Manufacturing Solutions, the First Coast Manufacturers Association launched its fourth offering of the Front Line Supervisor Training program. A total of 25 students from 12 different member companies are participating. Two remaining classes for 2016 are scheduled and are already sold-out.

Mike Templeton Awarded First Coast Manufacturing President’s Award for 2015

October 19, 2015 – The First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) announced the winners of its 2015 “Excellence In Manufacturing” awards at a banquet honoring nominees and winners in St. Augustine during its third annual Manufacturing Summit. Mike Templeton received the 2015 President’s Award. Templeton, a former a tri-chairman of FCMA, is an industry professional who assists manufacturers as an independent consultant. He was recognized this year for his role with FCMA to create and develop the association’s Workforce Academy and to provide leadership skill and knowledge training programs to member companies.

May 11, 2015 – Under the leadership of Mike Templeton and Templeton Manufacturing Solutions, the First Coast Manufacturers Association launched its first offering of the newly developed Front Line Supervisor Training program. This unique leadership focused program, available only to FCMA member companies, combines professional instruction from the University of North Florida with the opportunity to observe best practices at five different manufacturing facilities and to participate in a leadership panel discussion after each tour. The program curriculum includes personal leadership style assessments using the DISC tool, leadership, communications, performance coaching and management, team building, critical thinking and problem solving and supervising and the law. A total of 25 students from 14 different member companies are participating.

Templeton Manufacturing Solutions Embarks On Safety Improvement Initiative with the St. Johns River Water Management District

October 14, 2014 -- The St. Johns River Water Management District desires to develop a District-wide safety program that will increase occupational safety awareness, reduce staff injuries and lower associated workman’s compensation costs. Templeton Manufacturing Solutions was engaged to utilize the Operational Excellence Model of Assess, Align, Enable and Empower while applying the DMAIC process solving methodology. The goal was to develop a District-wide safety program approach that included detailed safety improvement recommendations and a deployment strategy plan to achieve the future-state vision.

Templeton Manufacturing Solutions Engages in Leadership Coaching and Training Initiative

February 21, 2014 -- The St. Johns River Water Management District desires to provide training and coaching in continuous improvement principles focused on strengthening alignment of their management team including the horizontal initiatives and the vertical service delivery leaders in the agency. Templeton Manufacturing Solutions and Underwriters Laboratories have been engaged to provide training programs that will include Lean Six Sigma, project management and team leadership/facilitation.

St. Johns River Water Management District Announces Changes

September 24, 2013 -- The St. Johns River Water Management District announces an organizational realignment to provide focus and accountability on strategic Initiatives and Core Programs. Under the guidance of Templeton Manufacturing Solutions and Underwriters Laboratories, the District introduces a cross-functional matrix organization that allows for Initiative and Core Program leaders to work horizontally across Division resources utilizing a new operating mechanism to systemically drive alignment and identify opportunities to problem solve up and down the organizational hierarchy.

Templeton Manufacturing Solutions, Underwriters Laboratories and UNF contract with St. Johns River Water Management District

April 25, 2013 -- The St. Johns River Water Management District announces plans to improve its organizational resource planning and delivery of service within the District’s Water Resources Division. The consortium agrees to utilize Lean and Six Sigma approaches to address planning and service improvements within the District’s Water Resources Division by identifying the Division’s internal and external clients and primary deliverables, determining if the existing organizational structure, deployment, and maintenance of the Division’s staff and other assets are appropriate given the District’s needs, determining if the existing use of space and physical layout are appropriate, recommending a management structure to facilitate the delivery of services to internal and external clients, developing a process flow chart and other appropriate documentation incorporating the proposed measures, identifying metrics for monitoring and measuring improvement, identifying and understanding how the work gets done, and managing, improving and smoothing the process flow of work.

Templeton Manufacturing Solutions Aligns with Underwriters Laboratories and University of North Florida

March 22, 2013 -- A consortium between Templeton Manufacturing Solutions, Underwriters Laboratories and the University of North Florida is being formed for the purpose of offering Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma solutions to clients. The goal is to improve quality and efficiency of work processes through the application of multiple continuous improvement principles and tools.

Templeton Selected to Auburn University's Chemical Engineering Alumni Council

March 11, 2013 -- Mike Templeton has been selected to join the Auburn University Chemical Engineering Alumni Council. As a member of this Council, Mike will join a group of Auburn alumni to assist the Department of Chemical Engineering in defining and continually assessing progress towards a strategic plan, providing a bridge for the department to the entities who employ their graduates, and to create a network of alumni to facilitate the development of the department.

Templeton Offers Testimony Before Florida Senate Education Committee

February 19, 2013 -- Mike Templeton participated with the Manufacturer's Association of Florida to offer expert testimony before Senator John Legg and the Florida Senate Education Committee on the skill level and readiness for high school graduates to enter the workforce. Talking in support of the Senate's initiative entitled "Lashing Education to Jobs", Mike emphasized the urgent need to significantly increase the readiness and improve the value of high school graduates who will become the high-skilled manufacturing workers of the future. Key points of emphasis included a need to improve the skill level in math, computer application, communications, reasoning and problem solving and to better educate the students in critical life skills as they prepare to enter the workforce. Mike spoke in support of on-going and new programs that offer high school students the opportunity to earn a formal accredited industry certification while earning college credits at the same time through the Career and Professional Education (CAPE) program.

Templeton Selected To UNF’s Division of Continuing Education Dean’s Advisory Council

February 15, 2013 -- Mike Templeton has joined the Dean's Advisory Council of the University of North Florida's Division of Continuing Education.  In this role, Mike will join other business leaders from the Jacksonville area in an advisory role to the Dean of Continuing Education pertaining to current program offerings, curricula, marketing, facilities, instructors, fund raising, continuing education trends and new program ideas.

Templeton Manufacturing Solutions Joins FCMA

January 14, 2013 -- Templeton Manufacturing Solutions has joined the First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA).  After serving the association for 14 years representing his former employer Renessenz, LLC, Mike is excited to continue his service to FCMA through membership with his new manufacturing consulting company. Mike will serve on both the Membership and the Governmental Affairs Committees, and he will support the FCMA public relations outreach programs by participating in the Speaker's Bureau.
